《Read Asia アジア文芸シリーズ》のシンガポール編『a tiny space』を翻訳出版するにあたり、翻訳者の方を『通訳・翻訳ジャーナル』（イカロス出版）の誌上翻訳コンテストで募集いたしました。

大変遅くなってしまいましたが、『a tiny space』を拝読しました。

想像以上に、素晴らしい作品でした！
何よりもフィフィの家族の、フィフィへの愛が詰まっていて読んでいてこちらまで温かな気持ちになりました。
家族全員がそれぞれを、そしてフィフィをありのまま受け入れ、笑顔で見守っている様子が感じられました。
東田直樹さんやダニエル・タメットさんなど、自閉症の方の書かれた本をいくつか読んだことがあるのですが、どの本からも両親からの愛が伝わってきます。
きっとそれが子供の個性を伸ばすことにつながってくるのだと思います。
フィフィが書くことの喜びや、神様への語りかけを通じて成長する様を体験することができ、幸せな読書体験となりました。

Having read a tiny space, I can happily say that this was a wonderful work that went beyond my expectations. It was particularly wonderful seeing the love from fifi’s family, which warmed my heart. I truly felt how each member of fifi’s family accepted him for who he is, watching over him with a smile.
I have previous read books written by people with autism, such as Naoki Higashida and Daniel Tammet. In all these books, a common thread has been the love provided by their parents. I believe that this love is an important factor in allowing children with autism to develop their own identity.
Reading fifi’s thoughts on happiness and his experiences growing up as he addressed God had been a truly fantastic experience.
